Meet Austin!
Hello! My name is Austin Cook and I am a Camp Greeter & Counselor at Charlie’s Canine Camp. Ever since I was little, animals have always been my passion. Years into the future, I still love working with animals and continue to grow my knowledge of animal care. The combination of education and experience in the pet care industry has allowed me to create a vast understanding in grooming, anatomy, physiology, animal behavior, body language, and more.
My adventures began as a child, dogs and cats had always been in my life. Keeping my mind curious about all of the breeds, personalities, and routines each individual dog has drove my passion. I attended the Animal Science Program at Finger Lakes Technology and Career Center where I learned about new animals and ways of caring for each based on their individual needs. Joining that program ignited that passion in my heart. I knew that this path was my life’s destination. I also completed a few veterinary courses from Alfred State College and would love to obtain my degree in the animal care field to further my desires in the pet care field.
Currently, most of my time is dedicated to cuddling my cat, Lucifer. Yes, I know the name makes him sound scary. In reality, he is a big cuddle bug. Lucifer has a calico sister named Simi and a Norwegian Elkhound sister named Valkyrie. All three have such different and loveable personalities, and are content to create tumbleweeds of hair to clean daily. I am 100% dedicated to ensuring each fur baby and their humans are comfortable and happy at Charlie’s!
