Meet Amy!
Hi Y’all! My name is Amy Hayes. I am one of the devoted co-owners and certified trainers here at Charlie’s.
In 2008, Santa brought me a beautiful, bouncing, black Newfoundland named Charlie, which uncovered my passion for working with dogs. While my full-time career was teaching computer software in a maximum security correctional facility, my desire to learn more in the canine field intensified. I furthered my education in training, behavior, nutrition, and grooming through Animal Behavior College and DNV University along with attending various seminars and personal research. I began dog-sitting, training, and grooming dogs in my spare time to satisfy my canine craving.
Fast forward 20 years, and it was time to shift gears and fulfill my passion for the dog world. Owning a facility like Charlie’s became my ‘pipe-dream’ and transformed into my reality with the help of my amazing business partner, Lauren. I am dedicated to ensuring that top-notch care is given to every pet at Charlie’s Canine Camp.
Most of my time is spent with my boy, Leonard (Newfoundland), enjoying R & R at our family camps, reading a good book while soaking up Mother Nature, or spending time grooming my big lug. Stewey, is the resident mouser and keeps us entertained with his crazy antics.
